I have been going through the Art to the 5th prompts from last year and I have been looking at the prompts from this year as well. I am so glad that I found the Art to 5th Academy through Ali Edwards as the information is absolutely amazing. They give prompts for documenting your journey for a whole year in a mixed media way. I watched the very first prompt from last year and I was so inspired that I wanted to get my goals in my art journal as well. I wish I had taken photos of what this journal page had looked like before because it was a hot mess, so I just dumped some gesso on it and started all over again.
I got these amazing india inks by Dr. Ph. Martin and I love them so much, I can’t wait to play with them some more.
I used the teal and the blue india ink for this project. I added a strip of blue and then added water with a paint brush, to that strip so that it would expand and then I did the same thing with the teal paint. The flowers that you see were on the pages before. I had added them with modeling paste but I hated the color that they were. The gesso covered them up perfectly and made them ready to accept the india ink.
After I tried my paint creation I grabbed these Heidi Swapp tags that I have had forever, they came with the vellum overlay and I thought these were perfect for documenting my goals. I wrote my family goals on one tag, my business goals on another tag and my thoughts about the new year on the tag that says HI.
After that I grabbed some alpha stickers to spell out goals and I adhered those to my journal page. I covered them with some matte medium to ensure that the they wouldn’t move and I ended up covering the entire journal with a coat of matte medium.
I drew in my numbers and outlined them with my Pitt Pen and outlined the sticker letters with my Uniball White pen so that they would pop off the page more. I then called this page done. I now have my goals for 2016 in several areas and I am loving it. I really enjoyed art journaling through my goals for this year and it made me think about my goals a little more as I was doing this project.
Have you art journaled your goals?
