Back to School

It’s that time of year again where the children go back to school. My son is going into 8th grade this year. I am not sure how I feel about this yet! My daughter is going to pre-kindergarten. I can’t believe how fast time seems to go. I swear it was just yesterday and my son was just going into kindergarten. Now I have one almost out of middle school and one that is close to going into elementary school.

Every year for the past 8 years I have tortured my son with a first day of school photo. This year I am going to include the little one into this photo shoot so that she can feel like she is a big girl. I am hoping that I can convince them to take a picture together but my son has turned into a horrible monster that I have to bribe to get pictures of lately. Please somebody tell me this changes with age???

This weekend was spent clothes shopping for back to school clothes. Oh how I wish my son had to wear uniforms. He is so hard to shop for and it is truly just a frustrating experience for all of us when we go to the mall with him. The clothes can only be black, white and grey, some khaki can be thrown into the mix as well but of course only if he approves. Then the shirts have to fit him a certain way otherwise he doesn’t want them and the shorts I can’t even tell you what style the shorts have to be in order to get his approval because I have no idea. I swear every time I turned around he was telling me “NO, that’s ugly”. We left the mall with one outfit and an entire family that was frustrated.

That was how my weekend was spent. It sounds like a ton of fun, doesn’t it (in my sarcastic tone). So I got to thinking I should create some templates for these awesome first day of school photos that I take so that I am all ready to go. I wanted to share my templates with you. Let me know what you think. If you would like one in any format that you need shoot me an email at beth@scrappingwonders.com
