Catching Up!

Well I haven’t had too much time to scrap this week and you add in a cold this means that I haven’t gotten much of anything done. As much as I love getting my photos in an album project life style there is nothing more satisfying to me then getting a layout done. I still love scrapping my 12×12 layouts. I know many people don’t scrap at all now that pocket scrapping is around but for me it is how I manage to get creative.

I wanted to share this quick layout that I did the other day of our traditional Bass Pro Shops Easter photos. This was the baby’s first year and with my daughter being six I don’t think I have that many years left of Easter bunny pictures with her, so it was important to me to document these.

I didn’t have much time and I wasn’t quite sure how I wanted the layout to look so I grabbed my trusty scrapbooking layout book from Close To My Heart. I absolutely love this book and it gets me out of my comfort zone. You can grab one of these inspirational books here.

Now for my layout I used some Websters Pages paper that I had. I love Websters Pages they are one of my absolute favorite paper companies.

Here is my layout almost done on my messy table 🙂

I used scrap paper to mat the photos and scrap paper for the strip down the side. I distressed the strip of paper on the side with some distress ink and I had the pink paper that I used as the mat for my journaling spot laying around on my table as well. The journal box is a project life card that I just cut down to the size that I needed it to be.

The layout was definitely done yet but the baby was yelling at me at this point so I had snapped a photo of it to look at while I was putting him back to sleep.

Here is the layout all done!

As you can see I didn’t add much to it to finish this layout. I used some Thickers to add the title, added some journaling, and added little flowers on the corner of the photos. I then called this layout done. When I use patterned paper as my background I tend to not get to crazy with embellishments because I don’t want to over power the photos.

I was really pleased with this layout and it came together fairly quickly. Here are a few close up shots.

Where are you with scrapping your photos this year? Are you to date at all?
