DIY Cricut Cover & More with HGTV’s Home Fabrics

HGTV Home Fabrics from Joann

Needless to say I was very excited to get my hands on some brand new fabric that is being sold by Joann Fabrics. I have a great coupon for you at the end of this post where you can get 10% off your total purchase of HGTV Fabrics and Trims that you can purchase online or in your store!

With me being a scrapbooker and all I figured I had to do something with this wonderful fabric that was scrappy related! What can be more scrappy related then creating a cover for my wonderful Cricut!

There is a ton of dust in my house for some reason and no matter how much I clean dust always ends up on my Cricut. This was a problem for me and one that I knew I had to fix!

I found this wonderful pattern online for a dust cover for my Cricut so I figured I would give it a shot! You can find the pattern here.

I decided to use the HGTV Checkered Past Fabric in Berry for my Cricut. This fabric is a great spring fabric and will look great on my Cricut!

This project was fairly simple I printed out the pattern and cut my fabric as the pattern stated. I then sewed all the pieces together and gave it a nice little hem. Before I knew it I had a Cricut dust cover and now my Cricut is all protected!

The next project I did was an easy envelope sew pillow. I have never made a pillow cover before but I have to admit that the throw pillows on my couch were looking a little tired.

For this project I used the HGTV Urban Blossoms Fabric in Berry. I really enjoyed working with both of these fabrics and the Urban Blossoms Fabric really made a difference with my couch throw pillows!

YouTube to the rescue! I watched this great tutorial and I was able to knock out two of these pillow covers in no time. I will defintely be a fan of Vanessa from the Crafty Gemini. I even watched a few of her other tutorials and they are all great!

Even the kids were surprised that I was able to make these. I am still a novice sewer as I just got my first sewing machine last year!

I made these pillow covers to fit my couch pillows which are a 16×16 size pillow. I followed the directions in the video and adjusted the sizing for my pillows.

My mom had stopped by and fell in love with my pillows so we will be off to Joann’s in the very near future to purchase some of this wonderful HGTV Home Fabric so that I can make her some new pillow covers!

I did have to purchase a rotary cutter, mat and ruler this weekend and I found this great kit at Joanns but you can also get it online from Amazon.

Here is a coupon for you so that you can get some of this wonderful HGTV Home Fabric at Joann’s

Great. Now I want to buy some fabric. I have no room for any more fabric! I guess I need to get out the sewing machine and make stuff.

Lol thanks Heather! The HGTV Fabric is really nice fabric and a lot of fun to play with 😉

  6. Someone else who scraps and sews! even if you are new to sewing. The cover and the pillows are great and I love the fabric. I’ve been avoiding the fabric stores unless I absolutely need something because I’m trying to use up what I have. Not as true with my scrapbook paper. If I find a deal, I’m on it! Thanks for stopping by my blog!

This year has been a world wind of me in regards to crafting! I have been teaching myself how to sew and crochet call me crazy and I love every bit of it! Scrapbooking is still my main passion though and I’m always in the stores lol! I think that since there is a 10% off coupon for you to use that you should go grab yourself some fabric!!
