Easy Layouts from the Past

Yesterday was a busy day for me as my weekdays are generally pretty busy with the kids and work. My goal this month is to complete some layouts that have been sitting on my desk and staring me in the face yelling at me to finish them. A horrible habit that I have is that I go to a crop and stick my pictures onto a piece of paper and then I bring them all home. Just like that with nothing else on them. I don’t journal at crops and I don’t do embellishments often because I don’t ever pack the embellishments that I want to use. I always tell myself to prep my supplies in advance but I never do. Which means I leave the house in a hurry and just grab my pictures and some paper and keep it moving.

Back to my layouts that are yelling at me! I have about 15 of them and I am just about done with my 2010 album if I could just stay focused and finish these layouts I would be good to go. So last night I managed to get three layouts done this means that I only have 12 layouts to finish. I am going to be honest with you I have this one picture and I have it all stuck down on a piece of paper but I am mentally blocked of how I want to embellish my page. I worked on this page last night and I finished it and then I woke up this morning and realized that I hate it. I guess Un-Du and I are going to get really close tonight as I am going to take the layout apart. If you have never heard of Un-Du then you should click on my link and grab you some. This is really the best stuff on the planet and it doesn’t hurt your layouts or pictures at all.

Here are some pictures of the layouts that I completed last night. The layout titled Grateful is my favorite, I really liked the way it came together as soon as I stuck the pictures down I fell in love with it. I apologize that the pictures are not the best but I took them with my iPhone this morning because I wanted to share them with you! I will take better pictures after I un-du my roller coaster layout.

I am so right there with you, Beth, on having the stack of unfinished layouts from crops. I get about as much done as you then they come home and sit. For some reason I would rather start something new than finish those! We need to challenge each other to get them done! LOL!!

HaHaHa I think that we should definitely challenge each other to see who can finish them first! I’m telling you I have completed several other projects but for some reason I block my unfinished pages out of my mind. I do this all the time! Maybe I shouldn’t go to crops anymore!

  2. Hi, Beth! I am commenting on your blog entry from September 19, 2012.

I think your iPhone pics are pretty good! I love that you use several pics on most of your layouts. Your style of scrapbooking is similar to mine. Once in a while I may place only one or two pics on a page to let an especially great photo bounce out of the page all by itself. That reminds me, I need to take a couple of pics of two pages to show that on my blog, as well.

I absolutely LOVE my UNDU, too! I use it all the time to loosen the adhesive on the back of my photos or mats when I need to change a layout around a little. I also use it to clean my scissors when they get gummed up with glue. It works anywhere you want to use unwanted adhesive. It doesn’t work well on the front of home printed photos, though. It can remove the ink and then you have to reprint the pic again, so I would caution people to be careful when using it on the front of a picture to clean it. You can use a sliver that you have cropped off the edge of a photo to test professionally printed photos, if you feel you must clean the front of a photo.

    Happy Scrapbooking!

      Hi Marcia,
Every time I try and click on your link it tells me that your blog can’t be found. I have actually tried a few times to check out your site because we communicate through my site all the time!

Thank you so much for the compliment about my iPhone pictures. They are going to look even better once I get the new iPhone I am so excited!!! I can’t wait to get it!

UN-DU is truly the best invention on the planet. I had some old photos that I needed to get off of a layout and it worked like a charm. I really think I am going to redo the layout that I hate but I haven’t taken it apart yet. I am leaving it alone and I will make a final decision sooner or later. I might just leave it alone. I am so indecisive about it.

The same thing happens to me when I work on LO’s at a crop. I have a few from my WAORUT crop that are sitll unfinished. Some of them I have looked at a dozen times but just have a brain block on what to do with them. Great job on getting some of your’s done!

      Hi Becky,
I actually went back to them last night and worked on some of them again. I am going to try and finish them up tonight because now I feel like they are hanging over my head. I feel like they will keep piling up on me if I don’t do something! I had that block to for the longest time but for some reason the creative juices seemed to be flowing last night. Hopefully it stays flowing tonight and I don’t get sidetracked into another project.
