Fun and Glittery Easter Project Life Cards

crafting gone wrongAll I can say at this point is COMING SOON. I had several failed attempts this weekend to create something wonderful for you all to see and every single one of them failed. My poor little creative heart is so very sad. I am sure that you all can relate to what it feels like to have a project look so wonderful in your head and then you create it and it looks horrible.

I started off with a glitter pocket card that I was going to share with you. It was going to be stunning and then it wasn’t. I grabbed my adhesive sheet cut it down to the perfect size and stuck it on to cardstock. I then stamped my beautiful Easter Lilly and waited impatiently for it to dry, after what felt like an eternity I decided to heat set it with my heat gun and grabbed my beautiful copics. I didn’t even have that much to color.

I started coloring and the glitter started moving and the lines started disappearing and I thought to myself this can’t be good or right. I followed through with it though and stamped my little sentiment and looked at the final card and was completely unhappy with the final result.

Next I decided to go with the same flower and same sized card and the same sentiment only without the glitter because obviously the glitter is what ruined everything. I got to stamping and everything was looking alright but then I had to go and ruin it with my copics because I thought the card looked to plain. Let’s just say that I should have left well enough because it ended up looking horrible.

Then I figured maybe it was sentiment that was making the card look horrible so what did I do? I stamped the same flower all over again and stamped a different sentiment. I probably would have been ok with this card if my sentiment hadn’t been crooked but of course it was. At this point I probably should have given up completely but I didn’t and I kept on going.

Now I am thinking that maybe it was the stamps that I have chosen so let me try  a whole new approach even though I had originally planned on some glitter and jazz maybe it just wasn’t meant to be. I got out my pigment inks and this adorable stamp set and got to stamping and embossing. I have to say that this card is probably the best out of all of them but I still think that it needs something else added to it. I used the whimsy pigment inks and Ranger clear embossing powder, plus I just ordered these awesome pens which I think are going to make me very happy when I get a chance to journal on all the layouts that I want to create and I drew some lines with them. The end result was a cute enough pocket card but one that I still believe is missing something.

I wasn’t done their though, nope I had to continue to torture myself. I saw this awesome video by Jennifer McGuire that was all about adding foil to a printable and I thought I could do that. Well after five pass through’s on my brand new laminating machine (which I purchased today, just so I could make something presentable) the foil was not sticking to my printable. All I can say is that at this point I would like to beat my head against the wall and never see my craft area again, at least for tonight that is.

When I realized that all of these techniques were not going to work I decided to go straight to my Cricut as you all know how much I love my Cricut. Can you guess what happened to me after I made the decision to use my Cricut? Cricut was down and out, I couldn’t get into design space and I couldn’t get into the craft room and all this meant that I couldn’t use my Cricut. At this point I have given up hope of having something all cute and glittery for you all to see.

Let me not forget to mention that I am typing all this up at midnight because the baby decided that he didn’t need to go to sleep this evening. Due to the lateness of this post, the pictures of all these horrible pocket cards will have to appear on your computer screen a little later in the day tomorrow because it is to dark for me to take photos at this time. And the last thing I want to do at this point is torture you with horrible photos, so on that note go and check out the other crafty chicks on the blog hop and be sure to check back with me later in the day to see if I have recovered from this ordeal.
