How to Scrap Quickly and Easily Part 3

Here it is the third installment of how you can make your scrapbooking life easier! I want to say it again, you don’t need a ton of time to get a scrapbook layout done. You can snatch a few minutes here and there and before you know it you will have a completed layout. The more you say you don’t have time to complete a layout the less chance you have of ever having your pictures preserved. On that note being prepared makes scrapbooking a lot easier.

I am a big fan of making my own embellishments and having my own extra embellishments just laying around waiting for me to use them when I am ready to scrap. Having embellishments ready to use makes putting a layout together easier. I wanted to give you a few tips on how you could make your own embellishments.

I have posted a few videos on the site about how to make your own flowers and you can also find videos that I have posted about making your own flowers on my Pinterest site. Flowers can be utilized in so many different ways on a layout and you can even use them for boy layouts as long as you have the right colors!

I am a huge fan of acrylic and I really enjoy working with clear scraps. If you have an idea of what type of title you might need for your layout you can purchase the words from clear scraps ahead of time and decorate your acrylic word for your layout. Clear scraps also has tons of embellishments that you can work with to create as your own embellishment for your layout.

Epiphany has this wonderful tool that enables you to make your own epoxy embellishment. If you can’t seem to find the right color embellishment you can make your own with this handy tool. I really like the way epoxy embellishments look so I am a huge fan of this product.

Ranger ink glossy accents and Stickles

These products can dress up any already made embellishment or paper that you are using for your layout.

Those trusty punches that you have are great for making your own embellishments I always punch out a few extras and keep them. This way I already have punched out circles or butterflies or whatever type of element that I may need for my layout. Punching ahead time also makes it easier for you to bring your embellishments to a crop.

I generally try to cut out a few extra images when I am using my cricut. This is the same principle as before. If you already have the cut out image then you won’t have to worry about turning on your cricut and cutting what you need. Your cricut is great for generic embellishments such as flowers, hearts, circles, scalloped shapes and whatever else you might like to use on a regular basis for your layouts.

There is never a right or wrong way to scrapbook but there are ways that you can make scrapbooking easy and fun so that you don’t have to worry about not having enough time. If you have things already organized and ready to go you can work on your layout 10 minutes a day until you have it all done. I personally steal snatches of time for my scrapbooking at night after my little one has gone to bed. Sometimes I get to work on stuff for two hours and other times I only get ten minutes. The trick is to utilize your time when you do have it, be organized and have some embellishments ready and waiting for you.
