I am back up on the Crafty Maven Getaway channel this Friday for Art Party Friday and all I can say is that the inspriation piece for this week was lovely but then I made a mistake and I looked at the inspiration piece for next week as well and I was double inspired! The first inspiration piece really inspired me with the colors in it and the second one inspired a particular element on my layout.

What inspiration do you get from inspiration pieces? For me it’s usually the color that inspires me.

The inspiration piece that is suppesed to start on August 28th really inspired me with the feather element and that is when I remembered that I had purchased a feather KaiserCraft Stencil a little while ago and hadn’t used it. I figured that this is was the perfect time to put this stencil to good use and I immediately thought of using my Texturez paste in Graphite on a transparency. This concept literally popped into my head and I just went for it and I am so glad I did because the way it turned out was perfect.

The scrapbook paper is one that I made a long time ago using stamps from Heidi Swapp and Close To My Heart and I have had it sitting on my desk forever (literally for like a year). I dulled everything down on the paper with a bit of gesso and then I added color using the smooshing technique with my Shimmerz products and some Heidi Shine (does anyone call it colorshine anymore?). After all that was done I used the Graphite Texturez to create my feather with the Kaiser Craft stencil on a transparency and I love the way this turned out. I will definitely be using texture paste on a stencil more often becasue the effect is gorgeous.

Alright no more explaining, you can watch the process video right here. I hope you were inspired by this layout!
