I wasn’t sure if I wanted to attemp the index card a day challenge this year with everything that I have going on but I decided that being creative is so good for my soul. I am really going to try and complete this challenge and you can see all the information about the challenge by going to DaisyYellowArt.com.

The first prompt for the challenge was Sunrise and I was up for the Art Party Friday video for the Crafty Maven Getaway and I figured this was the best time to just go ahead and be creative for me even though I was going to have to record and edit the video, I wasn’t crafting for my Etsy store or really anybody else because I just let the Sunrise prompt take over.

I cut some cardstock that I had on hand to 3.5×5 and added a few strips of drywall tape for texture and then covered the whole thing in some black gesso from blick art. After I dried that I knew that I had wanted to play with my Gelatos and some stencils and because of the Crafty Maven mood board I decided to add some white circles to it. I wish I had added a few more then I did but oh well.

My next step was to add some rays with my Tim Holtz stencil and I had to do some trial and error work with this part. I ended up mixing my Lemon Gelato with some Irridescent Medium and I loved the end result. I had this beautiful doll left over from a project back in April sitting on my desk and I decided to add her to my project. She ended up being perfect because her dress has the words “Share Your Story” on it and I absolutlely love the dolls from Calico Collage. I love all her work actually because her stuff just matches my style so perfectly. I will definitely be reprinting these dolls to have laying around on my desk for the rest of this challenge. You can see all of her amazing work by clicking here.
