Keeping My Sanity With Scrappy Time

With the new baby and all it really has been a challenge for me to find time to get creative but I have been making an effort to do so or I would lose my sanity. The other day I told my honey that I needed some creative time and I got right to work. I managed to get two layouts done which I am really happy with. I had the scrappy bug but I didn’t know what I wanted the layouts to look like.

I have this great book from Close To My Heart that has some really wonderful sketches in it. I grabbed it and went through it until I found something that I liked. After I did that I just went to work. I used papers that will be retiring at the end of this month from Close To My Heart and I have to say that I am sad to see them go but I am oh so excited about all the new paper lines that will be available August 1st. One of the layouts was created with the paper pack that you can win by entering the challenge at Take Heart Ideas, all you have to do is enter the challenge and you could be a lucky winner.

Here is my first layout that I did with the Free To Be Me paper pack that you can win by entering the challenge at Take Heart Ideas.

The word strips are actually the bottom strip of the patterned paper that I cut off and always use on my projects! I love how the feather vellum tones down the red cardstock and all the textures just make everything come together. I always scrap school photos and class pictures that way the kids will always have them. The letters were cut with my Cricut using the Art Philiosophy cartridge.

The next layout that I created was made using Timberline paper and Ariana paper. I have to admit I wasn’t to sure about the Ariana paper at first but I just had to have this paper pack considering it has the same name as my best friend, it was a no brainer.

This layout came pretty much from the sketchbook I didn’t follow it to a tee but I did follow it pretty closely. The cardstock came from the Timberline pack and the blue florals came from the Ariana pack. I love how well the papers go together even though they are from different paper packs. ┬áBoth of these lines will be retiring at the end of the month so grab them while you can. Don’t forget that any order that is $50 or more you can get the stamp of the month for only $5 and the July stamp of the month is an amazing alphabet stamp that is normally a $29 .95 stamp set.
