One Little Word

Many people have chosen a word to guide them through the year. In the scrapbooking world this was first developed by Ali Edwards! I have read several posts from other bloggers that are not scrapbookers that have developed this way of thinking as well. The point is to pick one word and let that word guide you through the year. This year I chose a powerful word.

I chose BELIEVE.

I chose this word because I have to BELIEVE that my hopes and dreams will come true. I have to BELIEVE in the Lord and I have to BELIEVE that I can make it happen. I have to BELIEVE in myself.

one little word

These are just the main reasons why I chose the word Believe.

According to Merriam Websters Dictionary Believe means to have a firm religious faith, to accept something as true or real. To have a firm conviction as to the goodness, efficacy, or ability of something. To hold an opinion. To consider to be true or honest. To accept the word or evidence of.

This word has already worked in several ways and we are only 21 days into the New Year. So as far as I am concerned I made the right choice and Believing and working hard is going to bring my goals to fruition this year.

You can always take a class by Ali Edwards over at Big Picture Class if you would like to get your one little word for the year!

Have you chosen a word to lead you through the year?

I’m laughing because my post today was about my word. It took me some thinking and wrestling to come to it, but I finally did. Love yours It is so empowering to just believe, isn’t it. 😀

That is hilarious Arwen, I wanted to post about my one little word before the end of the month. Believing in God and in yourself is so powerful and I am so happy with my chosen word. The questions still remains did I chose the word or did the word chose me 🙂

  2. Linda Luke

My word this year is lightness. I want to feel lighter about my work and world, open to the light of spirit and share that light with the world. In past years I have chosen words like trust, joyful, love, fully expressed.
Thank you for what you share in this post. I love the word believe!

That is a great word to have Linda. I have had faith and trust and love but this year Believe just seemed to fit me and what I am trying to accompolish this year in my personal and business life!

    Great word, Beth!!

I suppose if I were to pick a word for this year, it would have to be Focus. I would use it in all the same ways you have used Believe. I want to focus better on many areas of my life: on my Christian walk and how I can best help my church, on my relationships with family and friends, on how to become a better blogger, on learning as much as I can about my new adventure as an affiliate marketer, on my physical health (I’ve gotta get some weight OFF), just to name a few.

Great idea for a blog post, by the way. It looks like you got several comments already! It’s always fun to keep up with your blog. I don’t always comment, but I do try to read the posts. Gotta go now!

    Happy Scrapbooking!

Thank you so much for your wonderful comments I really enjoy you visiting my site and I am so glad that you always come back that just makes me feel warm and fuzzy. Focus is a great word to have. I have not used focus yet maybe when I get to where I want to be focus can be my word to use. Hugs Beth
