Something New….

BelleLive Blog Tour

Well hello there and thank you for visiting my site and stopping by from Vivayne from Art Life and the Journey. If this is your first time here, let me introduce myself. My name is Beth, and I am addicted to scrapbooking and documenting my family’s life. I have been a scrapbooker for over 10 years now. I am also a huge tech fan so I have married the two and started this site where I share with you tips and tricks on how to get photos off of your phones and into an album in no time at all.

This year brought many changes to my life specifically a new baby and becoming a stay at home mommy. After giving birth and adapting to being the mommy of an infant all over again I was able to get back on track with my business and life in general. Before I knew it I was right back in the saddle but I felt I was missing something.

Then came along a wonderful class on Creative Live by April Bowles, all about how to Build A Successful Creative Blog. This specific class was absolutely amazing and life changing for my business. I felt a renewed energy and realized that I do not have to be so hard on myself in order to create my online business. I have goals to meet this year and I am determined to meet these goals. The best way for me to do this is to create habits and this was the biggest take away that I got from the class. Don’t get me wrong I received a  ton of good information from this course but the one that resonated the most with me was creating habits.

I can create habits to get my work done, I can get up earlier and get my blog posts done or get crafty so that I can share my layouts with you or whatever crafty goodness I am working on at the moment. I realized that I was doing to many things at once and multi-tasking was not the best thing for me to do when I am creating for my business. With that being said no more multi-tasking for me as I have goals to meet and a business to grow.

I also decided to become an independent consultant with Close To My Heart, after watching April’s class. I did this because I do have a goal with my business which is to share with you how to get the photos off your phones but what products can I use to get this done quickly and easily. Close To My Heart was the answer for me now that I have embraced pocket scrapping (aka project life). Close To My Heart has some of the best pocket scrapping products on the market right now and their pocket cards are gorgeous to say the least.

After taking April’s class I have realized the importance of staying focused and taking some time for myself to work on my business. It is also important for me to unplug and take some time for myself and for my family. Balance is the key for me and for my family so that I can be happy. I will be taking everything one step at a time and taking the time I need to cultivate a wonderful life.

After all that, I wanted to share with you this great little screen saver that I made for myself with the Rhonna Designs app. I did this because I always have my phone in hand and what better place to always be reminded of my goals. I believe that inspiration/goal boards help you to achieve your goals in life.

I’m intrigued by the Close to my Heart products, and I love the idea of getting your pictures off your phone 🙂 One of my goals for the summer is to start practising iPhone-ography and getting the pictures from my phone to my blog.
…I do have to work on not multitasking though, so maybe I’ll finish what I’m working on now first 😉

I’ve never done anything with ProjectLife, but I take so many photos on my phone that I should probably check into it, lol. And ohmigosh Rhonna is so much fun!!!!

I am so on board with your goal of getting your pix off your phone! (I also want people to take the next step and have them made into jewelry, but that’s another story.) Photos are meant to be displayed not just collected!
Habits are so important for a successful blog. I have made the commitment to blog every Monday and Friday at theredscorpio and every Wednesday at tinytraileradventures and I have pretty much been able to keep up with it.
    Great post!

    Hi Beth!
Hmmmm, I know in theory that creating habits is important, but I always give it up before the habit is an actual habit 😛

I love using inspiration boards. I have a vision board above my desk and a virtual one on my Pinterest.

  8. Vivayne

ooh focus is a big one! I wish you great success on your new endeavor with Close to my Heart. Sounds fun. p.s. I LOVE scrapbooking & also design 🙂 we have something in common!

  9. Renay

Inspiration boards are my lifeline! I have them everywhere in my house and on my computer. Without them, I probably wouldn’t be even half as productive and enthusiastic as I am!

Lovely to meet you and I totally think inspiration boards help! Nowadays we have technology to help us do it faster / like on Pinterest / but it’s the same idea as the old days of creating mood boards, brainstorming and really doing the research and analysis part of a project. It helps to open up possibility for whatever endeavor you might have! You gotta dream big!

  11. Thank you so much for sharing all these new things in your life and in your blogging. The Creative Live class was really changing a lot in my way of thinking and acting, too. This is just the first steps on a wonderful journey. 🙂
