Whooohoooo December is here and I already have stories and photos for my December Daily album but once I saw this cut file full of gorgeous snowflakes I knew that I wanted to also document a story in 12×12 format. The Spiegel Mom Scraps store is featuring two cut files today and one is the Flakey cut file and other one is the Music Lover cut file, you can grab both of these files here.
Now to my layout, I managed to convince the honey that we had to put lights up now that Thanksgiving was over and the fact that the baby was super excited about them. This is exactly what we did on Sunday afternoon, we still have more to do but for now the kids are super happy about our lights and the fact that I went to Target on Black Friday to get those snowflake projectors because they were on sale for $15 I knew that I had to use the Snowflake cut file as well.
If you are a part of the Scrap Gals Facebook group you will also know that I sat around purging supplies the weekend before and now I know where all my colored cardstock is and what I have. The purging of supplies was so liberating and when I say supplies I really mean paper. I managed to get rid of a ton of paper and I feel so good about this. I grabbed a piece of Bazzil Teal cardstock that I have had in my stash forever and actually flipped it over because I did not want the dots on my layout. You will see what I am talking about in the photos and video. I then backed the entire paper with a piece of white cardstock so that my snowflakes would look white. I added some Holiday Traditions to my snowflakes and some Tulle and glitter cardstock to my layout. My photos were cut down and backed with a piece of white cardstock.
You can see all this here in the process video. I will say that I had to use hot glue for the tulle and I added the tulle for just a bit of added texture to my layout. I really like the subtle effect that the Tulle added to my layout. The Holiday Traditions sequins are stunning and of course I also had to add them to my December Daily album.
