Tag Fun

I don’t often make tags because I usually don’t know what to do with them but I was given some awesome products by Umbrella Crafts and the colors that were sent to me just made me think of Fall so I decided to make some Fall Tags. You can find Umbrella Crafts on their Facebook page and on their Instagram page.  I share how these tags were created over on Guide Central which I have talked about before. Guide Central is this great site that has guides for all types of DIY projects.

The first tag that I created I used a stencil and the dye ink pads to create an ombre effect on my tag. I then grabbed my Fall themed Close To My Heart stamps for the sentiment and some embellishments for my tag. I absolutely love the way this tag came out and I have plans to stick it onto a scrapbook layout in the near future.

The next tag that I made I used some mixed media techniques by painting the tag with clear gesso and the green colored dye inks that were sent to me. I then used my Faber Castell Pitt Pens to add some shading and dimension to the tag. After that was all done I stamped a sentiment on the tag from the December stamp of the month from Close To My Heart. I really loved playing with my Pitt Pens on this tag and I have plans to add it to the front of a card and send it on its merry way to a friend of mine.

These are great! I can see using them as gift tags, but also just tying them to odds and ends around the house: hang one from a chandelier; tie one around a stair post; adhere one to a mirror; tie one to the handle of a pitcher; use one as a bookmark; adhere one to my Kindle cover; etc. Leave them behind at friends’ houses, tied someplace where it will be discovered easily and seen often.

    These seem like great fun!

I love, love that ombre effect on the first card!!! I could totally see myself doing that. The template you used seems like it would be good for many projects.

I like the effect you created with the inks on the second card too.

I like using seasonal tags to decorate. I have some braided twine that I keep and just clothespin tags to it. It’s almost time to pull out the Valentines ones.

You’re ideas are so creative! Thanks for sharing!

Very pretty! Like all the tag ideas…never quite know how to do it or what to do with them.
