Using Your Stash On the Go in a Travelers Notebook

Hello everyone!  Daisie here with a couple of new spreads in my Mixed Media Travelers Notebook insert.  I am using this insert to document fun things about 2018.  I have also decided to continue to rediscover my stash with this notebook and only use bits from my stash that have been long forgotten.  The items I used on these two all came out of my “random” box.  This box contains fussy cut papers, die cuts from old collections, journaling spots, cut aparts, and homemade embellishments.  It’s full to the top with random goodies that allows me to craft on the go! Here’s a look at my “random” box.

The first spread is to document my goals.  I took inspiration from the Rediscover Your Stash event that is run by Khristina Sorge and Sara Scraps on Facebook and used the monochromatic challenge.  I love the mix of pink, black, and white.  I chose to journal about my goals instead of list them out.  This is different than the way I usually document my goals.  I felt that it was important to explain my goals so that I can look back and remember the why of them.  I created this while at work on the night shift during some down time.  So I was limited to just the box of goodies.

The second spread I created to document the books I read this year.  I have decided to make reading a priority in my life again. For many years after nursing school I could not force myself to read.  I felt burnt out on reading.  However, reading has been such a huge part of my life and I need to bring it back.  Again, I created this while at work and was limited to the supplies in the box.  This is a picture free spread used purely to track my books in a pretty way.

I hope that you enjoy these layouts!  I intend to use this book in a way that will allow me to keep documenting throughout the year.  It is also a great way to use up some of my stash!  The paper is so wonderfully thick that I can stick my embellishments straight to it without having to worry about whether it will hold up to the weight.  I’m hoping to include some inks in my random box to be able to do some actual mixed media on this paper.  These Travelers Notebook are just the perfect answer to being creative on the go!!

Thanks so much for visiting!  I will see you again soon!

Daisie
