Weaving Art Fun

Well I have gone and done it again! This year I have taught myself how to weave a tapestry. I still have a lot to learn but this is something that is quick and fun and makes for beautiful decorations. I made my first tapestry on a clipboard which was interesting and probably something that I will try again.

After I did that I just had to purchase the loom kit from Prima and let me tell you I am now hooked. I made a beautiful tapestry for my mother for Mothers Day and I just can’t wait to give it to her.

I purchased the Prima Desert Sand kit which you can find hereΒ and I got right to work. I was surprised at how easy this really is. I am now completely hooked and can’t wait to try incorporating different shapes into my weaving.

Now you can go ahead and hop along to see what amazing things the other women in the hop have created. Have you tried creating anything new this year yet?

I’m sure you’ll hear it a lot… but it’s so awesome! The arrow at the top is such a cool idea.. I should have gotten more creative with my holder! Way to go πŸ™‚

Love it!! The picture of the kit shows truquoise, grey and red. Did you switch the purple for red? I usually gravitate toward red, but purple seems to draw me this year. Turquoise last year πŸ˜„ Anyway, I digress…. your piece is just beautiful!! 😍

Hi Diana I did switch for some purple that I had in my stash because my mom loves purple and I gave it to her! Mint green has been my color this year now I have to find some mint green yarn for my next one lol. Thank you for the compliment 😍

  7. I love your tapestry… it’s a lovely color palette – and I’m all about the purple. The arrow accent at the top is so interesting. I too did my first woven tapestry on a clipboard and was delighted at how easy it was to create with supplies I had on hand. I will probably make my own weaving frame for my next project so I can go a little larger. πŸ™‚
